A change in diagnosis?

How are you all?I hope you are having a good day.I seen my pdoc yesterday morning.My diagnosis has been changed from Bipolar 2 to Bipolar 2 with psychotic features.I get the mood swings from hypomania to depression as well as auditory hallucinations. I am now on an antipsychotic as well as a mood stabiliser.I am a bit confused about the diagnosis. I read that Bipolar II cannot have psychotic features so is my pdoc confused?Should the diagnosis not be Bipolar 1?Anyone else been dx with Bp2 with psychotic features?Thanks for your time everyone.Take care now.

Being awake dreaming wondering why?

Ok probably not the right group of people to be asking this about but oh well lol give it a shot. I eat well been to the doctor nothing wrong with me that they can see didn't really think anything was really wrong but still to be sure. Im a pretty analytical minded person when it comes to thinking if somethings wrong but any to get to the point of this it's basically happened all my life but ill just be doing something and and all of a sudden ill zone out for like 15-30 seconds and remember dream's from the night before or ill know what my friends are going to say before they actually say it but mostly dreams not saying im pychic im not realy founded on the idea of that but it's wierd but the dream's happen alot and I feel like for seconds take minutes or longer duration of time and it feels like its truely a reallity and sometimes ill feel cold or will get suddenly hot after them... so as to end this I became convinced that we have dreams all of the time, from the moment we fall asleep to the moment we awake, but remember only the dreams near awakening. And still later I realized that we have dreams continuously, both in sleep and in a waking state. Dreams never stop, we don't notice them in our waking state amidst the continuous flow of visual, auditory and other sensations, for the same reason we don't see stars in the light of the sun. But just as we can see stars from the bottom of a deep well, so we can see the dreams that go on in us, even for a short time, we isolate ourselves...and achieve 'consciousness without thought. thats just my thought woundering if anyone else can tell me what it is cause some of the things i dream about well awake arent things i want to remember.

What is done when Spinal Bone Spurs start causing Pain and Numbness?

I went to my doctor last week and told him my Chiropractor had done an Xray and found 13 bone spurs in my neck and a twist and 21 down the rest of my spine and 2 more twists. He Referred me to a Spine Specialist. Now what can I expect? My arms and hands are swollen most the time these days and Numb and tingly. My feet and legs stay swollen. I have had a Dull nagging headache for 2 months. Since my sister talked me into going to the Chiropractor and she done 3 treatments on me. She used a tool she called a Small Jack Hammer used to realign the spine. I do not sleep well the past year I am lucky to sleep 4 or 5 hours a night. I Can not stand over 20 minutes at a time with out my legs getting so Shakey I feel like they will collapse. And Am having Bladder leakage problems. I go from Constipation to Diahrea without any notice. It is a choir just to brush my hair. Cooking meals and taking care of the house is gotten impossiable. I have to use a stool to sit on just to cook a meal. Doing the dishes or running the Vacuum is something I have so much pain doing I want to Cry from the Pain. I am just hoping with what they Call Degenerative Spinal Disc Disease and Degenerative Bone Disease there is something that can be done. I can not take Pain Medication Orally It causes Bleeding from my Ulcer. So even if they could or would Put in a Pain Medication Pump At least I could get pain medication with out causing stomach complaint. I can Not Even take Ibprufen with out pain Or blood in my Stool.

You should take her to a MD first to rule out physical problems. These shudders sound like some type of seizure disorder. Add in the hallucinations and I would suspect a neurological problem.The psychologist is only necessary if all tests come back normal for something medical.

Finding Bugs in the room?

Lately my two daughters have been finding bugs in their room. They were found one at a time on one daughters bed then a baby one was found inside a book down the side of the other ones (this one was very clear in colour). How can I protect myself from noise complaints when I live in an 2nd floor apartment?

I am really frustrated. We moved into our apartment about three months ago and about two months ago a new neighbor moved in down stairs. He compains constantly about our noise level and today two of our apartment office staff came to my apt and asked me to keep it down. We have a two year old and a 6 year old and it is summer so there is no school. The second day that this guy moved in he beat on his ceiling while my son was throwing a tantrum (about 530pm). Our apt rules our a 1000pm quite time and my kids are in bed my 7pm. I realize that kids are loud but I can't control every noise that they make (ie tantrums). Today I was vacuuming and of course kids freak with vacuums and run away from them. They had just finished dinner and right before that they had been playing video games (the youngest was watching my oldest play). About 5 minutes after I started vaccuuming the apt people came and beat on my door. So in a at least a two hour time frame we had been virtually silent and the second we make any noise this guy calls the office on us. I have talked to him and he even stated himself that the noise is always between 1000am and 7pm. He also said he was trying to sleep and that was why the noise was bothering him. I don't know what to do. Im sorry that he wants to sleep at 5 in the afternoon but most of America does not get to have that schedule. I also can't keep my kids silent ALL day. He plays his music and has friends over on the weekend and I have never complained about him. Its an apt and people make noise. I expect it and don't make a big deal about it. I am afraid that the apts will eventually try and kick us out. THey said they have a three strikes rule and they have already been by twice. They even encouraged me to think about if we really needed a garage and if we might think about a first floor apt. Yes I want the garage and does that even matter? I don't want to move again. I told them to put some one with kids underneath us but they said they can't make him move... wow. as Im writing this my kids are in bed (its 715) and he has started up with some god awful loud music. I don't want to start a "war" with my neighbor but I am wondering if they can kick us out? We dont' make noise after curfew and even then if the police were ever called, we wouldn't be issued a citation because its kids and not a tv or radio or party or anything... What are the laws about this sort of thing?

Well first off I'd suggest you do all you can to finish college. Look for any financial aide you can. Having a college degree is especially important for someone with your illness. You will have more option available to you. I suggest you talk to your states rehab commission. You may be eligable for assistance from them as it's purpose is to get people trained so they can find employment. Plus in the case you end up unable to complete college they may bbe able to train you to a suitable job within the limits of your abilities and then also find you an employer open to working with you to find a suitable place for you in his company. Do I have a mental illness?

Lately I have been having auditory and visual hallucinations. The visual ones aren't that bad and kind of entertain me. Just things melting and breathing and looking like waves. But at night I hear talking, yelling and repetitive noises such as basketballs bouncing, machine guns, etc. When it's talking its always different voices and it can be positive, negative, or even totally nonsensical things. They don't really scare me so much as irritate me by keeping me awake at night, such as right now -_- Anyway a little background life is kinda rough right now. Dad almost died I almost got locked up and I probably have to move again. Also I'm 15 and have a history of schizophrenia depression bipolar and all that good stuff in my family. I'll keep this short and sweet - I currently suffer from schizophrenia. I have paranoia, delusions, and hallucinations. My medication makes it a little easier to live with my condition, and it helps me organize my thoughts. I needed to write this question over about 4 times just to make sure it made sense. Anyways I am doing very well in school. I have a 4.3 overall hs GPA thanks to the support of my best friend and my parents. However I didn't realize until this year (I am a junior right now) that I am not liked by the other kids. I don't know why I'm not, maybe they are jealous of me? I'm kind of angry at them because you're not supposed to be jealous of a schizophrenic. They don't know about my mental state though. Recently, I was accepted into a lot of summer programs at top-ranked universities. I was overjoyed, and so was my family and close friends. I don't have a lot of friends. I have this modesty in which I don't want to show people my report cards because I don't want them to talk behind my back, because I know they do. I rarely tell people my grades, I only tell them what classes I take IF they ask. If they don't ask then I have no business or reason to tell them. I was accepted into a lot of AP classes next year but I dropped some of them because I don't think being under a lot of stress is good for me, and my mom agreed. There's this one student in my grade who is highly competitive. I am not very competitive to begin with, I just do whatever I can and do the best I can. Everyone knows he talks bout people behind their backs and he doesn't have much emotional intelligence. I shouldn't be talking about emotional intelligence, but you get my drift. He asked me all year about my grades and my classes and I told him. He asked me about my summer program acceptances and I told them about those too. However, I decided to drop most of my APs about 2 days ago after I took my last AP test this year. I also mixed up my SAT and SAT 2 dates this month (everyone knew I was taking reasoning in June and subject tests in May, but I mixed the dates up). I didn't realize until the day of because of the craziness of AP week and all of this pressure I was up to my neck in. Then he got kind of suspicious of me, maybe it's my paranoia, but I swear it isn't, this time I know what I'm saying. He's been spreading lies about me the entire year, saying how I'm lying about my grades, and he did digging in my files about my AP acceptances for senior year, and he didn't know I dropped some of them and saw I was not accepted into Calc, but I was, I just decided to drop that one along with a few others. He tells everyone I am not as intelligent as I act, and I don't act very intelligent at all. Sometimes I help people with math but that is only because they ask me for help, not to show off. I can tell you right now, that about 50-70% of what you said sounds like what happens to me :S I pretty much have an idea how you feel... Except I feel scared, you say you don't feel scared. I am 14 (turned 14 3 weeks ago) and I see things at the corner of my eye, I always feel the bug crawling (more like a spider) on my neck or shoulder, I hear someone calling me but no one did (doesn't happen to often), I think about how the world works, my teacher would ask me to answer a question when I space out, it's like I can feel the world turning as the clock ticks every second, my blood pump through my veins, no twiching, my friends don't notice when that happens besides the no paying attention part... And what scares me the most is the feeling of that thing standing there by my bed ready to hurt me or scare me. It's always my bedroom door! I feel like it will pop open and the thing will attack. In my mind it's like a memeory, I hear it open, see the creature pounce at me, feeling the scream stuck in my throat, and before it touches me, it disappears! One night I actually screamed and my dad asked what's wrong and I said something wants to kill me... I sometimes shut down too, and end up having no dreams. I can also feel the following around part to, my boyfriend is aware of this, he actually says that if I feel like that again, I have to think in him, I do and it's almost gone! I know it's cheesy but it worked and still does but my fear takes over at times. I need some answers too... But in MY opinion, think of things that can get your mind off you beast and pray to God! My mother always says that if you pray to God, He will be the one by your side and that evil will avoid you when He's there. So my advice: Pray to God to protect you until you find a way to fix the problem... Ihope I helped and I hope I find answers too... Your not the only one

Bones can get caught in a cats throat so Yes unfortunately it can be dangerous and sometimes fatal, however birds bones tend to be small and more brittle therefore the cat can digest them eaily enough. However chicken bones can be dangerous as they are alot larger and harder. Dont worry the cat will be fine. It's natural for the cat to eat the whole bird - like I said providing it is small.

My ferret has fleas!?

If your not seeing anything on him, it may be mites. I have a guinea pig who had mites when I first got her. It never got that bad as to the point where she had scabs, because I noticed it right away. But have you noticed him slightly jumping? Almost as if he was about to have a sizure? Obviously it not getting that bad, but that can also be a symptom. Call your vet right away. They will be able to give you a definete answer as to wether its mites, fleas, or something else, and they can get your ferret the right treatment.

Can't find dropped pill..i'm a wreck.?

i was using a cfl for the first time today and i ddnt reely think i could screw it in to my light. Is my keyboard broken?

So its only my D key on an asus g50vt-x5 gaming laptop.I really don't eat at my laptop too much, and if I did, I've already taken all the keys off and used a vacuum cleaner with a keyboard attachment on it, as well as a can of compressed air. Carpet stained with Dog Odor?

I just moved into my new house and there is a HORRIBLE odor of Dog urine. The rental company I am working with claim they professionally washed the carpet, but the smell remained. I thought the scent may have been in the walls so i bleached ALL of the walls in a 2 story house. We then put odor deodorizer (baking soda) on the carpet, and let it sit in for a day, the next day we vacuumed. The smell still remains! I have carpet in the bed rooms and hardwood floor in the dining room and living room, sun room, and kitchen. What do you guys recommend me doing? What could get the smell out?

That's not the same thing as what schizophrenics go through. You're right -- that involves auditory hallucinations. This is just a result of you having low self-esteem. What can these hallucinations mean medically?

My friend has been having hallucinations lately. Her vision went black and then kaleidaskoped for a little less than a minute, she heard people speaking to her, and she literally felt someone push on her head when she was laying down(while she felt the pressure she couldn't move, open her eyes, or speak so she just prayed. I always have music playing in my head..?

I not sure why, but i do have music in my head all the time. I play the violin, and sometimes for me it might be the violins playing, but its just usually music of any kind. It get so obsessed with music i can listens to it for hours at a time, and i listen to it whenever i can. When I start playing my violin, its like i cant stop until I feel satisfied with my results. This also really bothered me when i tried to sleep. whenever i wanted to sleep, i would try to blank out my mind and power down, but i would hear music. i dont know why, but it would just keep coming back each time i tried to block out the sound in my head, which gave me plenty of sleepless nights. It was a bit hard for me, but i tried to either completely stop listening, singing, or humming to music in a day or at least tone done how much music i put into myself everyday. I find that if you try to just stop playing and listening, the music starts to die down. I also hear odd things like spoken and short conversations, or whispering when it's not really there. those sorta haunt me in a way, while the music helps my mind better because while it does annoy me while trying to sleep, but it helps block the world out, and i have a very strange paranoia of some things. I hope this will help you as I used to have problems with the music in my head, but now its duller than it was before. I dont have it with me 24/7.

90 Celica idling high...what's the cause?

I've got a 1990 Celica GT with the 5SFE 2.2L 5-speed engine. Ever since I've had the car, it idles all the time from the lowest of 1500rpm to the highest of 2000rpm. The lowest I've ever seen it idle is 1000rpm and that was for 3 seconds. It does that sometimes. It's like the rpm's just dip down to 1000 for a quick couple seconds then they rise right back up to 1500-2000. I've done some basic troubleshooting such as spraying carb/brake cleaner around possible leaking points like the intake manifold, injectors, vacuum hoses and lines, and valve cover. But spraying those points does not seem to make the engine's rpms change. I'm pretty puzzled as to what could be causing this issue. And since this is an OBD0 car, I don't have a scanner that will work with it. Also, this sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, but I can tap the gas pedal real quick and the idles come down to around 1500-1600. Doesn't always work though. I've checked the idle screw on the throttle body as well and it's screwed all the way in. If I back it out at all, it makes the engine idle even higher. Any thoughts or suggestions from anyone?

I have given various speed reading programs a try and found little to no success with most of them. The one I have seen the most growth in my speed with is the eyeQ speed reading program. But I do now have physical ailments like chronic headaches and stomaches and a lot of fatigue, as well as insomnia, hunger with no appetite(as in not wanting to eat but feeling very very hungry after not eating for prolonged periods of time), and tiredness in general that doesn't really go away. I usually have nausea or vomiting in the morning, also. I get very anxious in public places still and have many problems socializing and communicating with strangers. I have intent and desire to, but only after leaving the scene. Out in public, I usually get irate and nervous at loud noises and sweat a lot. It takes a lot out of me to get out there and look like I'm not having a problem. I'm only fifteen and keep going to the doctor but they can't find anything wrong. Many of them tell me to see a psychiatrist to be diagnosed/treated for possible depression and I do get that a lot. But most of it is just acting 'weird' around others and I don't want to be like that anymore. Auditory hallucinations are also becoming a waxing problem but are not yet affecting day to day life. I don't WANT a diagnosis... But is it possible I have neurosis?

What is wrong with our refrigerator?

We have a Maytag model RTD1900DAB refrigerator (which I believe was manufactured in 1994) which has a freezer at the top with an ice maker inside. We have had frequent issues with the ice maker inside the freezer but very few with the freezer or refrigerator themselves. On a regular basis, the ice created by the ice maker will freeze into one large block; we will then pull the ice box out, melt the ice out and melt the ice frozen inside the tube which pours the water into the ice maker which then fixes the problem. Last night, we discovered that the refrigerator was very warm. We pulled the bottom vent off and vacuumed the dust and dog hair out from underneath the refrigerator, closed it back up, then gently pulled the refrigerator out and vacuumed behind it removing the dust and dog hair there as well. We pushed the refrigerator back and were careful to make sure the cords were still plugged in and in tact. We also noticed at this time the ice was frozen in a solid chunk, so we melted it and cleaned that part of the freezer as we usually do. The freezer was still very cold like it should be (still is this morning too), but no change in the refrigerator temperature. In addition, we noticed that only one batch of about six ice cubes was made overnight (which isn't normal). This morning, I noticed that a lot of water is dripping inside the refrigerator now. What could be going on? I can't imagine it's the seal on the refrigerator or freezer door, because it's a sudden problem that's come up. I'm only a 24 year old woman so I don't know how to open the compartments up and check any of the coils. I don't know how this particular refrigerator works but it seems to me that the problem could be with the freezer needing to be defrosted as there is a light frosty deposit on the back interior of the freezer too. Please help! My mother has said that she will probably invest in a new refrigerator soon since this one is so old, but in the meantime are there any quick fixes for this refrigerator?

Toyota Camry stalling issue?

I have a 1993, 4 cylinder, automatic, toyota camry. recently I had a friend of mine replace the head gasket because it blew. Since then the only trouble I've been having with the car is that it stalls after I floor it (if I have to get up to speed quickly, not necessarily putting the pedal all the way down). After i floor it it will start jumping, like it's out of gas, when I take my foot off the gas pedal. Once I stop or have to slow down the RPM's just drop and the car stalls. I can't get it to start in neutral after this, so I have to stop the car and turn it off then back on, then it will run fine again. If i let the car slowly get up to speed instead of flooring it, it won't stall. I've checked the vacuum hoses and they seem fine. What could be causing this?

Okay, so make a long backstory short, my dad is in a detention center for 30 days. I am staying strong (i'm 16), but my mom sometimes is like a 3 year old. Dtc P0410 came up after replacement of air pump?

2001 chevy blazer 4.3 vortec. I recently replaced the air pump and the new hose assembly stated in the technical service bulletin in response of the p0410 trouble code. 2 weeks later it shows up again. It shows 'p0410' and 'p0410' pending. what the hell is going on???? When I start the car, I hear the new hose vacuum sucking in air and shuts off after a few minutes. So it is working as it should. Well it's possible but it's more likely to have been schizophrenia. To be diangosed with bipolar at such a young age it must have pretty bad. Maybe they misdiagnosed schizophrenia if they were not aware of the voices? If you see the doc or psych for a review tell them about the voixces and see what they say. Not really necessary to have anti-psychotics at this stage if you don't have any current symptoms. Keep an eye on things.

I've always had a lot of problems with cognition and physical abilities, ever since I was maybe 2-3 years old. It's ironic, because when I was a baby as young as 3 months I exhibited understanding of human speech, and by 6 months I was talking and learning rapidly. By kindergarten, however, my teachers noticed that I would not respond when my name was called, though I excelled in all assignments so that I had to be given third grade work to relieve my boredom. Social detachment wasn't my only issue, as I also had frequent episodes of spacing out and being unable to comprehend the simplest of instructions. I also often felt physically ill, moved awkwardly, and had poor motor skills. All of these problems continue to this day (I am now 15), and they are joined by an array of others. I've looked up different mental disorders and found that I have twenty or so symptoms of schizophrenia, but the problem there is that schizo is usually developed in the late teens or early adulthood, certainly not in the toddler years. I have, however, had the hallucinations (mainly auditory but sometimes visual) often associated with schizophrenia. I would hear voices and music and see balls of flame daily, starting when I was 3 years old, but these disappeared altogether when I was about 5. I'd also get a sort of floating sensation sometimes, like my mind was not in sync with my body. I often get aches in my hands and feet, which turn blue when it is cold and scarlet when it's hot, and I still have terrible motor skills. I get terrible headaches and feel paranoid when I'm alone. Sometimes I talk to myself or have "practice conversations" with people I know who aren't present at the moment, but what's disturbing is that sometimes I don't realize I'm doing this until I'm a few minutes into it and see that I'm alone. I have really bad insomnia. Despite all this, I'm #2 in a class of 700 freshmen... but really, there must be something wrong with me. I've been to doctors, but I find it difficult to express these issues in spoken word and have gotten no real help from a medical perspective. The only possible cause I can think of is that I had sleep apnea when I was younger and also sometimes stopped breathing when I was awake; perhaps this could have reduced oxygen to my brain, thus debilitating it in some way? Please help. All these things worry me, especially because it often seems that certain symptoms are worsening. :(

Car is hunting need help! for Professional mechanics?

okay so it all started when i was testing and disconnected spark plug caple from the coil while the car was running and at that moment it reved up to 4000 rpm and stayed there until you would tap the gas pedal then it went down and started hunting!, and this happens now every time when the car is turned on it revs on 4000 or something until you tap the pedal. and also if you disconnect the vacuum hose from the map sensor it stopps hunting but idle stays at like 1500rpm, and as soon as you connect the hose to the sensor again it starts hunting again(It is not the map sensor! i have tried changing it with no change!) it cant be that the car is taking false air cause it started when the wire was disconnected from the coil. so i was thinging maby somethinghappenedd to thestepper motorr when the wire wasdisconnectedd from the coil and damaged the stepper motor is that apossibilityy? what do you think

I have fleas in my house. Not very many adults from what I see. Have Chrysler 360 marine engine, but it wont idle?

have 78 power boat with two chrysler 360 engines. I sent the carbs out to be rebuilt and put them back on. I got the engines idling for a day. They sounded great. The thing is one carb is a carter, the other a weber 4bbl. The carter has a vacuum choke, the weber was given back with an electric choke. So the next day i wired the electric choke, and the engine fired right up and revved up, then died. I am finding that the engine no longer wants to idle. No matter what adjustments i make, she wont idle. Also inside the weber there is fuel puddling up, and there is fuel leaking from the gasket between the intake manifold and the carb. Its a lot to explain but i hope its easy to fix.

so i get chronic migraines. and i get em bad. the auditory hallucinations, the anger, the throbbing pain in one side of my head (usually the right side, the pain makes my eye droop too), and i'll always smell or see something that's not really there. the pain and side effects always last hours. especially if i get them in the morning, they last until i go to bed that night. taking strong (otc) pain pills and drinking things like coffee with a lot of caffeine help, but the pain's always still there. i'd rather not have to get something prescribed or go to h doctor, but idk what to do and i need help on how to deal with the pain and side effects. please :[

How do I get rid of fleas on hardwood floors?

I Live in Georgia. I stay in the basement and I have all hardwood floors, with two small area rugs. I have a dog I have flea infestation. I bought some Precor, and followed those directions. I also got a flea fogger and bombed the house. I vacuumed the floors, the rugs, my bed, my couch, and washed everything in hot water, and my dry clean only items I dried on high for 30 minutes. I got rid of the bag immediately after vacuuming. I also mopped and swept after vacuuming. My dog has been properly treated and is flea free (we went to the vet yesterday). That was two weeks ago and I am seeing baby fleas now, which I was expecting because of the cycle of flea. I bombed again and sprayed the Precor and did the cleaning regimen once again. Tonight I have found 4 baby fleas within 30 minutes. What else can I do? I am at my whits end!!!
